Samsung "SMART" TV Woes!!

So this is about my Samsung TV Model: UA50J5570AULXL

This was my first Samsung product and seeing the experience with it I am afraid to buy another product from Samsung and the kind of service I am sure even local TV sellers provide better service.

I bought this TV for Rs. 72500. Which was way above my budget. But finally I got it thinking I am going for a reputed brand and will not have to worry about buying another TV for another 10 years or so. (Before this TV I had a Dyanora Color TV bought in 1986 which is still working.). I know things don't last these many years these days. But 10 years is reasonable for the price I was paying.

At least that was the expectation. Paying that kind of money, again iterating, Rs. 72500 for a TV was a lot for us. We got it with the hope that we won't have issues with the reputed brand it was associated with.

The TV stopped working exactly after a month of purchase.
We raised a complaint with customer care. And we were told the issue will be resolved in 40 hours if I remember it right.
The service guys took more than a week to come to our house. And it took around 30 to 40 days to get the TV repaired and working. So this was how it started. We had numerous issues in between. But I don't want to detail all of them here.

So last month again we had an issue where the video was totally fuzzy. Again we raised a complaint. The service guys took a week to come and check. He didn't really do much diagnosis and said we have to change the board which will cost around Rs. 9000. I was baffled. Paying another 9k for a TV which I had paid Rs. 73k. I did some research on the Internet and found the factory reset code for the TV and tried it myself. And you won't believe it. The issue went off. The service guys took Rs. 250 from us for their useless diagnosis and asked us another Rs. 9000 for an issue which was fixed using a factory reset
I called them up and they refused to give back the Rs. 250 which we had paid for their wrong diagnosis. By now I am totally fed up with the kind of service I am getting for the money I paid. Now again 3 days back the TV just stopped working. When I switch it on the Samsung SMART logo comes and then it keeps repeating. It stays in a boot loop forever. The TV is not switching on. Factory reset doesn't work too.

Again we raised a complaint and its been 3 days. Every day the service guy says he will come and he doesn't show up
Please tell me what I should do now. Should I be expecting to pay another 10 to 20 k for this TV?


I obviously have got a faulty TV set from Samsung. It has had problems from the day I bought it. Paid Rs. 73k for a TV which has just worsened the experience for me. Including the service. I am really fed up with the kind of service and support I got from Samsung. So I have been really unlucky here because I got a faulty set or should I understand that Samsung products are generally of low quality and its the norm to call Service Technicians every few months?
